Termite Treatments

January 16, 2017

Termites are an unwelcome site in any home but with modern technology there are effective treatment options for these pests.

Liquid Termite Treatments

Liquid termite treatments are the most common and effective termite treatments to control these infestations. These types of treatments are sometimes the most necessary method of eliminating termites from the structure. Liquids can also help prevent infestations in the first place. A liquid treatment begins with the licensed technician digging a small trench along the foundation of the structure. He then drills small holes in the attached concrete slab and apply the termiticide into the trenches as well as under the slabs. Once the termites come into contact with these products, it will attach itself to their bodies. The termites will then spread the product throughout their colony and through grooming and contact.

Termite Bait Systems

Bait systems are another common treatment method that is a little less invasive to the structure. Stations are placed in the yard around the structure. Once the termites start to feed off the contents of the station, the pesticide will spread throughout the colony and eliminate the entire colony. These stations must be monitored throughout the year by a licensed pest control operator.
